Behaviour management

At our school we have three school rules:

  • Be Safe and Healthy

  • Be a learner and an Achiever

  • Be Respectful and Co-operative

We use these rules as the foundation for our Positive Behaviour for Learning program. In this program we recognise and celebrate students who demonstrate positive behaviour which helps them to become better learners. This behaviour is recognised in a variety of ways, for example – ‘gotchas’ and ‘honey bees’ which lead to rewards for individual students and whole class groups;  success postcards which are sent home to parents and care-givers; and certificates presented to students at whole school assemblies.

We support students to demonstrate positive behaviour by explicitly teaching students about our expectations for their behaviour. We also explicitly teach students values and skills to help them achieve success in their learning through the “You Can Do It” program which includes getting along, confidence, organisation, persistence and resilience.

We expect all students and staff to work together to ensure our school is a friendly, safe place for all. For more information download the SCSS Student Code of Conduct
