Springwood Central State School works with Department of Education therapy professionals to support eligible students with their access, participation and engagement in learning.
Therapists provide services across a number of schools within the region and work collaboratively with school staff, families and other professionals to address students’ individual needs.
The school may access support from:
-
Occupational therapists, who may assist with areas such as fine motor development, sensory needs, classroom participation and access to learning
-
Physiotherapists, who may support mobility, physical access, positioning and participation in school activities
-
Speech-language pathologists, whose support is accessed through the school’s referral process and may focus on communication, language and learning needs
Access to therapy services is based on individual student needs, eligibility requirements and departmental referral processes. Families are consulted as part of this process, and any recommended strategies or adjustments are developed in partnership with relevant school staff and support professionals.
